Fountain View Car Show - Oct. 9th at 11:00am
Fountain View, Friendship Village Sunset Hills’ (FVSH) assisted living community, will present their first vintage car show in October.
Up to 12 vintage vehicles ranging from 1920 to 1970 will feature in the show along with a 1964 retired St. Louis Fire Department Pumper truck.
Open to the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, on the Fountain View grounds, 12777 Village Circle Drive, Fountain View’s car show will provide food, drink, raffle prizes and children’s games for those attending.
Until this year with one exception, the community sponsored an annual quilt show, supported by local churches, but participation waned, Nicole Summers, Fountain View’s residency counselor, said.
“While the staff and residents loved the quilts, enjoying their display over some days, church quilting groups are dissolving as younger people pursue other crafts and arts,” Summers said.
The car show replaces the annual quilt show as a community event sponsored by Fountain View. For more information on the vintage car show, Summers suggested calling 314-270-7111.
Nestled in rolling hills, Fountain View serves as the assisted living arm of FVSH and boasts beautiful facilities, appropriate security and top-notch healthcare services, according to Summers. “The community’s reputation stands solidly on a 38-year tenure of serving the Sunset Hills community,” Summers said.
Friendship Village, a not for profit, governed by a local board of directors and currently administratively managed by Iowa based Life Care Services, provides a vibrant alternative for senior living with independent units, assisted living and skilled nursing care in a prime location with access to all aspects of life.
