Meet the Friendship Village Chesterfield Staff

Terry Walsh, FV Services, INC. President and CEO

Terry joined Friendship Village in August 2016 as Executive Director. The Board of Directors recognized his distinguished career in healthcare and faith-based senior care and senior living. Terry previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Ascension Health Senior Care, the senior care subsidiary of Ascension Health, one of the nation’s largest health systems.  Prior to starting Ascension Health Senior Care, Terry served on the corporate staff of Ascension Health in strategy, operations and business development.

Terry’s career in Hospitals, Health Systems, Health Programs and Post-Acute Care includes leadership positions with Ireland Army Hospital, Tripler Army Medical Center,  Brooke Army Medical Center, TRICARE and PACE.

Terry retired from the U.S. Army in 2007, as a Colonel, following 22 years of active duty in the Medical Service Corps, where he held numerous executive positions leading to improved care for military families. Terry graduated from Westminster College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, earned a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Baylor University, and a Master’s Degree in Strategy Development from the U.S. Army War College. Terry’s wife and two children enjoy soccer, tennis, robotics and many other activities.

Terry is enthusiastic about joining Friendship Villages and preserving the mission of providing exceptional faith-based services for seniors throughout the St. Louis area.

 


Michael Hambley

Michael Hambley, Executive Director

Mike joined the Friendship Village family in early 2017 as the Executive Director of Friendship Village Chesterfield. Mike moved to St. Louis from Chattanooga, where he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ascension Senior Living’s largest CCRC campus and multi-site operation. Previously, he served as Administrator of the Catholic Care Center in Wichita, KS and Executive Director within the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System in Hutchinson, KS.

Mike holds a Masters of Business Administration from Kansas Wesleyan University, a Doctor of Ministry from Western Theological Seminary, a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Spring Arbor University. 

Mike’s passions include his wife, four children, team sports, reading, chess, and training Golden Retrievers for conformation/obedience shows.

Carmen Fronczak, Chief Strategy Officer Friendship Village Senior Services

Carmen Fronczak is the Chief Strategy Officer at Friendship Village Senior Services. She is responsible for the organization’s growth strategy, including sales and occupancy of the current $201 million senior living campus expansions in Sunset Hills and Chesterfield and the recent acquisition of its Medicare-certified home health service, Friendship Village at Home. Fronczak brings 25 years of experience in healthcare sales and marketing, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, a master’s degree in health informatics and is a registered nurse. Since joining the company in 2013, Fronczak has been integral in facilitating business growth—even setting a national record by preselling the previous $50 million expansion of the Friendship Village communities ahead of construction in 2014. Her ongoing volunteer work with Mercy Women with a Mission reflects her passion for the healthcare field, and her drive to incorporate the latest in wellness programs and technology for seniors has become a defining characteristic of Friendship Village as it continues to push senior living into the future.


Tim Vosse

Tim Vosse, Chief Financial Officer

Tim joined Friendship Village in July 2017, as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Friendship Village, Tim served as the CFO for two family-held businesses. His career includes nearly 15 years in senior healthcare and services, the majority with Bethesda Health Group as CFO.

Tim is on the Board of The Independence Center and is active in the community through other professional associations. Tim graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. 

Tim is extremely excited to be “back home” in senior care and services with the Friendship Villages. He’s committed to preserving the mission and growing the Friendship brand to touch the lives of more seniors throughout the St. Louis area who we are fortunate to serve. Tim and his wife enjoy cooking, dining out, golf and travel. They have five children in high school and college, so are adjusting to a quieter home and look forward to the times when all the kids are together creating laughter and memories.


Gayle Randa

Gayle Randa, Chief Human Resource Officer

Gayle joined FV Services, Inc. in 2018, bringing more than 20 years of Human Resources experience in executive and senior leadership roles in multi-facility, and multi-state senior living operations. Gayle started her career with Via Christi Villages as Vice President of Human Resources, providing HR leadership and strategic guidance for eleven facilities with 1000 leaders and staff located in Kansas and Oklahoma. Gayle (and her family) moved to St. Louis in 2014 to serve as Chief Human Resources Officer for Ascension Health Senior Care, the senior care subsidiary of Ascension Health, one of the nation’s largest health systems. Gayle holds an Associate of Arts and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wichita State University as well as a Masters of Human Resources Development from Webster University. 

Gayle’s passion is to cultivate happy, motivated and engaged employees.  Not only through competitive compensation and benefit programs but ensuring that the appropriate training and education allow all staff to grow alongside the company.  Last but not least, showing every employee the respect they deserve and the value they bring to the organization.

Ken Klump, Administrator

Ken is a  St. Louis native who grew up in Overland, MO and has made his home in Chesterfield for the past 17 years. (DeSmet Jesuit High School, should you ask the popular question.)

His healthcare career has spanned over 25 years, with the last 14+ years serving as an Administrator with skilled nursing facilities. The Klump family includes a wife of over  32 years and three children (two sons and a daughter). Ken received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Ken coaches baseball for the Chesterfield American Legion team, follows the Cardinals and creates do-it-yourself projects on his home and cars.

JudyM

Judy Moore, Sales Director

Judy and her husband have lived in Chesterfield, Mo., since 1985 where they raised their two daughters. Judy moved to St. Louis after living in Evanston, Ill., Racine, Wis., Phoenix, Ariz., Chicago, Ill., Springfield, Oh., and Canandaigua, N.Y. She can relate to residents moving! While in St. Louis, Judy first worked at Ralston Purina as a director where she developed and deployed the first personal computer and analysis systems to Beech Nut, cereal, and pet food businesses for Purina. After a brief “Stay at home Mom” trial Judy moved into senior living with Friendship Village in 1995. Judy was the Marketing Coordinator until 2002 when she was promoted to the Marketing Director--now Residency Director. Degrees/Education: BA Wittenberg University, Psychology, Phys. Ed.; Management degree, Marquette University; Long-Term Care Ombudsman certification. Judy enjoys running and has completed 10 full marathons, 20+ half-marathons, and two triathlons.

Jill Frein, Project Manager

Jill has been in project management going on 16 years and in healthcare for 26+ years. Born and raised in a small town in Iowa, the Village was the perfect fit for her desire to be part of a small community again. She attended both University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa to earn her Bachelor’s degree. Jill was also a member of the UNI Women’s Golf team, a pastime she would like more time for. She started her career in the Medical Laboratory field working at a cancer center, open heart hospital, large city and small rural hospitals. She climbed the ladder to Director of Laboratory before turning to Project Management, specifically senior living construction. Jill joined the Village in 2013 and has called St Louis home for the last 17 years. She has two amazing children, a Labrador retriever and a cat. Jill enjoys reading mystery novels, spending time with extended family and watching her children play soccer, baseball and softball.

Carmen Worley, Assisted Living Sales and Outreach Director

Carmen joined the Friendship Village team in 2011, splitting her time between fundraising and outreach on the Chesterfield campus. She moved into full-time Community Outreach for both campuses a year later and enjoys building relationships and business referrals in this role. She comes to us with experience in development, event planning, volunteer management, teaching, and communications. Carmen holds undergraduate degrees in Advertising, PR and Education from Drake University as well as a Master’s Degree in Education from Washington University. She has two boys and sings at various opportunities throughout the area. She loves her family, her church, the beach, and chocolate (not always in that order)!


Sarah E

Laurie Stowe, Director of Nursing

Laurie joined the Village Care Center team as ADON in 2016 and recently transitioned to the Director Of Nursing position. Originally from Southeast Missouri, she has lived in several areas across the country as well as overseas, while raising her now three adult daughters.

She has more than 25 years' experience in the long-term care industry - originally starting as a C.N.A. While practicing in the long-term care setting as an RN she has obtained both Resident Assessment Coordinator and Director of Nursing certifications. Laurie has developed a passion for leading the nursing department to approach the care they deliver with a Person-Driven Focus. This helps the nursing team to discover the things that each senior brings to our community as well as what makes them who they are as an individual.

Karen Powers, Care Navigator and Supportive Services Director

Karen has been a nurse for 21 years, graduating from Webster University with her BSN. She has been with Friendship Village since 2000. She is married and has two daughters, and one grandbaby. Her great passions are Boxers and quilting. And grandchildren.

Emmanuel Teferi

Emmanuel Teferi – Director of Food and Beverage Services

Emmanuel was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and went to Parkway Central High School. He received his bachelors degree in hotel & restaurant management from The University of Missouri. Next, he acquired a masters in management & leadership from Webster University.

Emmanuel joined Friendship Village in 2018. Previously, he worked at another community called The Gatesworth. He has worked as a manager in the hospitality industry for over a decade.

Emmanuel enjoys spending quality time with his wife, family and friends. Other hobbies include running, sports and trying new culinary experiences.


BurtCampbell

Burt Campbell – Chaplain

 Burt has over 30 years of pastoral care experience and joined the FVC community in 2017. He is married (Linda) with three children (two are grown, and a 3rd is in high school). Burt is ordained through Open Bible Churches for whom he has served as both a district director and a national board member while pastoring his own congregation. Before moving to the St. Louis area, he worked alongside numerous denominations and churches as president of his local association of churches. A graduate of Oral Roberts University, Burt was also a contributing author to “We Believe,” Open Bible’s official resource for teaching core foundations of the faith. He has a passion for reading, playing guitar, studying history, and miniature war-gaming. For him, the best part about ministry is helping others find vibrancy and meaning in their relationship with Christ. Burt loves spending time connecting with people, hearing their stories, and sharing hearts.

Jenifer Russell, Community Life Services Director

Jenifer is a graduate of Iowa State University where she received a degree in Leisure Studies with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation.

In 2015, Jenifer celebrated 20 years of service at Friendship Village Chesterfield. As the Community Life Services Manager, she is responsible for directing volunteers, transportation, in-house programming, annual events, wellness programming, resident communication, and salon services.
